Vacation... it's a trip.

Yay! A cool picture! *Ahem* So yeah... I went out on the breakwall a couple days back and danced around avoiding all the flying hooks from the local fisherman and snapped some shots of the sunset, above is one of the 30 some shots I took (for the day I'd taken 208 shots, but not all of them were of the sunset of course).

For those of you who are somewhat unclear as to what a breakwall is, see the picture below.

Looky! People walking on the breakwall! Crazy!

Yes, this is me on vacation so I should be much more rested than I am right now, so yeah, I'm gonna stop stealing the library's wireless internet access and go drink lots of coffee. Woohoo!

(If you click on either one of the pictures be ready to wait all day for the high res version to load)

I'm leaving on a jet plane...

Okay, I lied... I'm leaving in a car. But I'm still leaving, that has to count for something :P

Anyhow, I'm headed out of town on vacation tomorrow, and I'll be gone for two weeks (roughly) but I'll be back in time to move into my new apartment (booyah!).

So yes, life has been pretty boring lately... Mostly packing up my stuff so I'll be ready for the move when I get back.

VBS has been going on at church, so I've been running A/V for that and helping the little kids with games and such. It's been pretty fun, but man, these kids make me feel old... seriously, they have way too much energy!

Oh and in other news, I have a 14 year old stalker now... Creepy, huh? They got my number because for some lovely reason Alltel decided to send a copy of my text messages to one of my friends to their phone as well... and being the nice people I'm sure they are, they called to inform of this bit of info, got my voicemail and decided I sounded like a "nice person" and told me to call them back... Then they called my other friend (who's number they also got threw misdirected texts) and asked if I was hot... that's just wrong. Now since I'm a horrible person, I plan on never calling them back, and if they call me again I'll let Layne talk to them... he has a "way" with people *grin*

Holy crap...

So I looked at the date when I woke up this morning, and for some reason the fact that it was the 6th of August and what that meant escaped me for a moment... until I realized that I leave town in 6 days. Holy crap.

For those of you who visit my photoblog Cold Coffee, I had to take it offline due to the server load problems it was causing. I'll try and get things sorted out and get it back online soon, but until then I'll just post any pictures I have here.

I think that's all for now, I must go find myself some dinner now.

So this is what it feels like?

In the course of 45 minutes, my bank account dropped $725 dollars. Word. Now to be fair, my roommate is going to pay half of that back to me, but he has to get the money first.

Now before you start to think I just go around dropping large amounts of cash for kicks, let me explain. We saw the apartment today, and promptly dropped the $500 for the deposit, but since we won't be moving in till Sept. 1st that leaves the apartment all alone for a month, and the landlord had somebody else who wanted to move in within a week if we didn't take the place, so she "suggested" that we pay her half a months rent for the month of August. It's really not that bad, considering we can start moving things in as soon as they finish painting the place.

So yup, we got a new place, and more bills... so this is the real world...

"You've been beatdown"

Those words are still echoing in my head after this latest round of Halo battles, but the good news is, I had my fair share of beatdowns as well *grin* I don't recall winning a single game tonight... *thinks back* I take that back, I won one. I'm slacking off I guess. Wait, that really doesn't make much sense... how does one "slack off" from a video game... video games are completely mindless... hmm...

Well, looks like we get to tour the apartment later this morning (Aug. 4th) at around 9AM, and if we decide we want the place then the real fun begins! Paperwork! Which isn't really all that bad, but since both my hands are rather torn up from my little bike crash I've found it hard to write lately. Ahh well.

The plan as it stands is to stop by Conroy's for breakfast tomorrow, then head across the street to The Mill for a nice cup of the sweet nectar of life (coffee) and then once we've woken up we'll head over to the apartment for the tour.

I was just thinking...

A shock, I know! Me thinking?! How could this be? But yeah, I was thinking about the stupid names Microsoft gives their products. Like what kind of a name is Windows Vista? My parents used to drive a Vista... it looked like a shuttlecraft off Star Trek Next Gen, which during the nerdy years of my childhood I found rather cool, but a name for an OS? Huh?

Anyhow, I'm quite proud of myself for going something like 5 months in between posts on my blog. That has to be some kind of feat, I'm sure people leave their blogs to die all the time, but actually coming back and posting after 5 months? Dude... I should get a cookie or something.

So, happy news, Sarah and Nick don't want the apartment Free and I are looking at, so there is hope! We're going to take a tour Thursday with deposit money in hand... err... checkbook. But seriously, it's been hard to find anything wrong with this place, it has a dishwasher, central air, tons of storage space... All things my current apartment doesn't have, plus, the doorknobs don't fall off when you open the door! How insane! As an added bonus it's also closer to my new favorite place to eat (D'leon's), which is good news for my stomach, even if its bad news for my pocket book *grin*

I was just looking at Kay's blog, and I found out that she's a horrible speller, right up there with Zach... okay, that might be going a little far, but man, her photo album has so many typos! Ahh well, what matters is the photos themselves, not the captions. Though I was a little disconcerted to find pictures of my face on her blog...

What's this?

Behold! The end of the world as we know it has come! I'm actually updating my blog... dun dun da!

So, yesterday morning I went on a nice relaxing bike ride around the boring city I live in, and I'm cruising right along when all the sudden something goes terribly wrong and both my bike and I come crashing down. So needless to say, the palms of my hands are pretty scrapped up, my left knee is nicely scabbed, and my shoulder is not only bruised but sporting some fine looking abrasions. Good news though, my face is unharmed, you can all breathe a sigh of relief. Oh and in case you missed it, I was kidding, I'm not really that vain.

In other news, I went to Wal-Mart last night with Free (to get donuts) and bought myself an MP3 player, granted I'm poor so I didn't get an iPod... but hey, it’s a decent player.

Oh yeah, and I found out when I'm hyped up on caffeine I'm better than normal at sniping in Halo.

That's all for today folks, time for you all to head home.
